SHOW: SEEING WITH ANIMALS (MARCH 22-25 2017, EASTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY)

We are delighted to announce that our 2014 series Menagerie will be exhibited in the context of the Living With Animals Conference 3: Co-Existence at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky between March 22-25 2017.

LIVING WITH ANIMALS

Living With Animals 3 presents wide-ranging artistic, practical, and scholarly work. Julia Schlosser, Jessica Dallow, and Martha Robinson are co-organizing the exhibition “Seeing with Animals,” focusing on animal imagery and visual representation, beginning on Wednesday, 22 March. The conference also features the “Living with Horses” theme, with talks selected and chaired by Gala Argent and Angela Hofstetter, beginning on Thursday, 23 March. In addition, Living with Animals will be celebrating 25 years of the journal Society and Animals with a panel organized by Ken Shapiro and Margo DeMello, on Friday, 24 March. The organizers also plan to devote time on Saturday, 25 March, to issues surrounding teaching the animal.

Menagerie consists of layouts made of wood, glass, glue, paint, plexiglass, Schleich plastic animals and other materials. The layouts come in two configurations: 16 ½ x 12 ½ x 10 ½ inches (L x H x W) and 24 ½ x 12 ½ x 16 ¼ inches (L x H x W) and includes the following artworks: The Physical Impossibility of Death etc.; Art Farm etc.Untitled etc.I Like America etc.Untitled etc.Elephant in the Room etc.Spring Training etc.Hahn/Cock etc.; Würsa à 18000 Km etc. (March 31, 2014); Mother and Child etc.Untitled (Twelve Live etc.)Best Before (April 3, 2014), and Elefant. STATUS UPDATE: I AM A MOD

Hello there. Here's the latest update to our series STATUS UPDATE, consisting of rugs made of vintage anchor 6ply wool, latch hook canvas, and cotton. STATUS UPDATE began in 2015 as an appropriation and détournement of the iconic sign "I AM A MAN" used by strikers fighting for civil rights in Memphis, Tennessee in 1968. After I'M TROLL comes I'M A MOD.

Hello there. This is our first artwork of 2017: I AM A TROLL is the latest  installment in the ongoing series STATUS UPDATE, consisting of rugs made of vintage anchor 6ply wool, latch hook canvas, and cotton. STATUS UPDATE began in 2015 as an appropriation and détournement of the iconic sign "I AM A MAN" used by strikers fighting for civil rights in Memphis, Tennessee in 1968. Is there any humanity left in the age of algorithms and social media?

We didn't think so, either.
