We're happy to share our latest project. Gross Domestic Product is comprised of twelve miniature sculptures (layouts) made of wood and resin. This series is part of COLLEO' s ongoing exploration of trashscapes, i.e. the aesthetics of garbage in contemporary society, which includes CARSCAPES (2017) and YOU'RE IN A WONDERFUL COUNTRY (2016)

According to Joseph Beuys, everyone is an artist. COLLEO believes that everybody is a sculptor: waste is the artwork we produce on a daily basis. It's a genre of street art: trash is literally everywhere you look. It is known as litter, rubbish, garbage. On average, European citizens produce 480 kilograms of waste each year. In 2016, Danish produced 777 kg, Italians 495 kg (Source: Eurostat, 2017).
